The market runs Nov 20–Dec 23, open Thursday–Saturday 11 a.m.–9 p.m. and Sunday noon–8 p.m., then daily starting December 11. Admission and parking are free, making it an easy festive day trip.
November 28–December 31 – Tinsel Trail – 400+ Christmas Trees in Big Spring Park (Huntsville, AL)
Downtown Huntsville’s Tinsel Trail turns Big Spring Park into a glowing forest of more than 400 decorated live Christmas trees. It’s free, open 24/7, and runs from Nov 28–Dec 31, so you can stroll with cocoa in hand any night in December.
All December – Small-Town Cheer in Somerville & Priceville
Somerville and Priceville lean into cozy, small-town celebrations—think church programs, school concerts, neighborhood lights, and quick drives into Decatur and Hartselle for the bigger parades and tours below. Downtown Huntsville kicks off December with the Mix 96.9 Von Braun Center Huntsville Christmas Parade, stepping off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2. Expect more than 80–90 lit-up floats, marching bands, and a whole lot of “A Very Merry Christmas” magic along Clinton Avenue, Church Street, and through the heart of downtown.

Decatur Christmas Parade – “Real Snow” and Small-Town Holiday Magic on 2nd Avenue
The Decatur Christmas Parade rolls through downtown on Monday, December 8 at 6:30 p.m., following 2nd Avenue and Bank Street. Expect lit floats, local groups, and even some “real snow” effects planned to delight parade-goers this year. This is the big one for residents of Decatur, Priceville, and Somerville—an easy go-to for classic holiday fun.

Hartselle Christmas Parade – Christmas at the Movies in Downtown Hartselle
The Hartselle Christmas Parade brings a cinematic twist to downtown with this year’s theme, “Christmas at the Movies.” The parade is set for Thursday, December 11 from 7:00–8:00 p.m., starting at J.P. Cain Stadium and traveling down Railroad Street and Main Street. Twinkle-lit floats, school bands, dance teams, civic groups, and Santa at the finale make this a must-see for Hartselle and nearby communities.

City of Madison Christmas Parade – “Cartoon Classics” Takes Over Madison
Madison brings the nostalgia with its 2025 City of Madison Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 13 at 5:00 p.m. The theme is “Cartoon Classics,” so expect floats inspired by favorite animated characters, lights, and lots of family photo ops along the parade route in Madison.
Historic Decatur Christmas Tour – Candlelit Homes, Churches & Holiday Charm
Also on Saturday, December 13, Decatur hosts the beloved Historic Decatur Christmas Tour from about 2:00–7:00 p.m. This self-guided tour takes you through grand historic homes, churches, and buildings in the Old Decatur and Albany districts, all decked out in full Christmas finery, with lights, luminaries, and seasonal music. It’s a perfect date night or grown-up evening for locals from Decatur, Priceville, Somerville, and beyond.
